Freedom to Learn have no religious or political affiliations that might restrict the way they operate.

Freedom to Learn aim to set up sponsorship for children in the Himalayas region of India irrespective of their background.

Freedom to Learn plan to get as many of these children as they can, into school.

The Kullu, Lahaul, Zanskar, Spiti and Ladakh valleys are located in the Himalayan region of Northern India.

The children of these regions have become increasingly aware of the outside world and in particular Western influences, which is stimulating a greater desire for knowledge and many of the children now share similar aspirations as their Western counterparts.
